New 500SE-M Firmware v3.66 released!

Degrees display option added: More versatility is provided to display either 16 cardinal headings or degree headings on the camera LCD. Displaying degrees now allows for more accurate verification of heading, imprinting on the image and post-processing listing in the image footer.

"NO GPS FIX" warning: Users are now alerted if a GPS fix has not yet been obtained or if their previous GPS fix has been temporarily lost. By flashing the "NO GPS FIX" on the camera's LCD when the shutter button is depressed, the user is notified that if an image is captured it will not be coded with GPS position information.
